    Privacy Policy

    Effective July 17, 2026

This is a general template, not legal advice — review it with a lawyer before relying on it for compliance (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) in your jurisdiction.

    1. Overview

This policy explains what information Colleague collects, why, and the choices you have. Colleague is a set of student calculators; you don't need an account to use it.

    2. Information we collect

    • Usage data — pages viewed, which calculators you use, approximate location (from IP address), and device and browser type, collected through analytics.
    • Cookies — small files stored in your browser, described in Section 3.

The numbers you type into a calculator are processed in your browser to show a result. We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect names, emails, or payment details.

    3. Cookies

Colleague uses a few kinds of cookies:

    • Preference cookies — remembering things like the last calculator you used.
    • Analytics cookies — helping us understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the calculators.
    • Advertising cookies — set by our advertising partners to show and measure ads (see Section 5).

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so may reset preferences but won't stop the calculators from working.

    4. Analytics

We use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics or a similar provider) to understand traffic and usage patterns. These providers may set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. We use aggregated analytics data — we don't sell your individual data.

    5. Advertising

Colleague displays advertising to keep the calculators free. Our advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show relevant ads and measure their performance. These partners collect and process data under their own privacy policies, and you can usually manage ad personalization through your browser or the ad provider's settings.

    6. How we use this information

We use usage data and analytics to understand which calculators people rely on, to fix bugs, and to decide what to improve or build next. We don't share this data with third parties for their own marketing purposes beyond serving the ads described above.

    7. Data retention

Analytics and advertising data is retained only as long as needed for those purposes, consistent with our providers' standard retention periods.

    8. Children's privacy

Colleague is intended for a general student audience and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

    9. Your choices

You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time, and most browsers let you send a "Do Not Track" signal or limit ad tracking. You can also opt out of personalized advertising through your ad provider's controls.

    10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will update the effective date above.
